Dan samples Fair State Pils, a German-style pilsner, care of friends Paige and Rick earlier during the pandemic.
STYLE: German-Style Pilsner
INGREDIENTS: Bohemian Pilsner malt, Hallertau Mittelfruh hops
AVAILABILITY: 16-Ounce Can (Year-Round)
Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.
Middle yellow/golden with a nice white, fluffy head.
Graininess plus grassiness with a hint of earthy/floral notes from the hops.
Grassiness continues with hints of bitterness cleaning up.
Crisp, super dry with a refreshing mouthfeel and level of carbonation.
Crispyboi! If you were expecting a German food pairing, you nailed it. This is incredibly sessionable for whatever occasion though, and I can see why it is a favorite amongst the brewers and their clientele.
Cheers and remember:
Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
