Dan gets enveloped by another from his from his Notch Brewing stash earlier with Černé Pivo, a Tmavé/Czech Dark Lager.
Notch Brewing Company Černé Pivo
STYLE: Lager – Tmavé (Czech Dark)
ABV: 4.5%
IBU: N/A
AVAILABILITY: 16 oz. cans/Draft (Seasonal)
Stats above taken from the brewery’s can and website.
Appearance
Super dark brown and clear, with a good, tan head, and some lacing on the glass.
Aroma
Inviting toasty and malty elements sing on the nose.
Taste
Toasted bread with deep, dark malt elements, and almost burgeoning on shaved dark chocolate.
Mouthfeel
Velvet and mouth-coating, with soft carbonation and fairly light mouthfeel and body and a fairly dry finish.
Overall
This beer is very much like a warm blanket on a cold, autumn night…it really envelops not only your palate, but your general being as well. Lighter roasted meats, flatbreads, other bar fare, and barbecue or chipotle chicken wings came to mind on the pairing front.
Cheers and remember:
Life’s a tap…drink up ’til it’s dry.
