Episode # 326: Contour Interval

Life On Tap Episode #326: Contour Interval (Wild East Brewing Company Contour Interval ∞, Foeder-aged Solera Saison)

During his visit to Wild East, Dan sampled and then promptly added the foeder-aged solera saison, Contour Interval ∞, to his take-away order.

Wild East Brewing Company Contour Interval

STYLE: Foeder-aged Solera Saison
INGREDIENTS: All New York State malt and hops
ABV: 6.1%
IBU: 0
AVAILABILITY: 16oz Cans, Draft (Limited)

Stats above taken from the brewery’s can, website, and Untappd.

Appearance

Light/straw yellow in color and a little hazy with a sizeable, fluffy, white head.

Aroma

Fruity and funky right off the bat with a blend of pineapple and lemon with some oak character hitting along with a little spice.

Taste

Lemon-based acidity hits first with a muddled pineapple juice note hitting after followed by additional complex earthy and funk notes.

Mouthfeel

The canned version presented a little bit more carbonation and provided a spritz element beyond the draft. Really enjoyed the weight and the mouthfeel, being not too light or heavy while gliding across the palate.

Overall

I love that we get to have these amazing expressions of New York agriculture/terroir through the various different beers from NY State Farm Breweries. This is an aperitif beer in my mind, but it would probably slay with some Long Island oysters or ceviche for sure.

Thank you so much to Joel for joining me on a mini-crawl to Wild East and other locations!

Cheers and remember:
